911 R engine lid grille...possible source !!
As an off shoot of the previous thread re: this topic I took the idea to a friend who is a retired welder/craftsman for the local water district. What he does now is mostly create stuff people want or invent stuff they soon want. Cool guy and an artist.
Anyway I showed him the plastic grille off my SC and said that what I want is just the diamond (expanded) mesh to fit the hole. He has made two for me which I'll pick up and paint tomorrow. One is with a frame around the edge the other without AND no sharp edges. Not sure of the size of the (diamond) opening but a tad larger than the stock SC one. It is fairly heavy gauge so will not need the supports underneath shown in the pic on the other thread. If I can get them made in bulk how many guys would be interested? Price would be in the ball park of $70. With the frame (1/8" X 14") it would likely be $125. I'll post pics when I get them. Just lemme know if there is any interest.
