Setting Dwell Angle with MSD
I have been setting the points on my car for the past 19 years by attaching the red lead of the dwell meter to the connection of the thin wire that goes to the side of the dizzy where the points connect, and the black lead to the nut on the fan housing. Even though it is an 80 engine, I have a points dizzy.
Recently I had an MSD CDI & Blaster 2 coil installed, replacing the old Bosch. Do I connect the meter the same as w/ the Bosch, or is there some other procedure, or other things to look out for? And yes, BTW I have heard the words "Crane" and "Pertronix". Thanks,

Same. The dwell period is a function of the time the points are closed. It's independent of whatever ignition box is triggering off the event, whether Bosch CDI, MSD or whatever.
Connect in the normal way and remember, never connect anything to the coil.
