Headlight Pull Switch Problem, help

So I have an 87 Carrera.

I broke my Headlight Pull Switch yesterday trying to remove it to replace my turn signal switch, since my headlights are not working.
It is PN 911-613-029-03.

I picked up a used one but it is PN 911-613-029-01 (from 83 SC). It looks the same except there are two wires that now dont have somewhere to connect. Will this still work for me?

I plugged it in, and it does turn on my parking lights, but my headlights still do not work.

Now I know at first thought I should just say get the right PN, but I was assured by the seller that this would work, and I don't want to have to go through the hassle of returning it if it should work, and its just that my headlights are faulty because of something else.

The two wires that have no place to go are:
One is a grey wire with no stripe, and the other is a red wire with a white stripe.

Thanks for any help!

Scott
