73.5 to 74+ cold start valve
OK, I've tried several different key words however, I can't seem to find any information on converting a 1973.5 CIS Cold Start Valve to a 74 and later valve.
Can it be done? thanks in advance |

Why are you converting? The 1973.5T engine does not have a Termotime switch like the 1974 engine (2.7 Liter). I believe that the 1973.5T Cold Start Valve is designed specifically for that model. Every catlog house has them including our host. I would not waste my time trying to re-engineer a cold start valve not designed for another engine.

U probably want to try because the 73.5 valves are getting crazy expensive......I paid about $400 for a new one about 3 years ago and was told it was not possible to convert to a later type.....I think the price has gone up to over $600 now??????

I looked about 6 months ago and everyone said that they were NLA. Today, I checked Pelican and found one for just under 190.00.... I think I'll buy it
Thanks for your help. |
