Indexing Spring Plates
Looking to raise my 911 and have read through the numerous posts on re-indexing the spring plates plus have the 101 book as a backup. Does anyone have a schematic that details out the design of the rear spline assembly for reference? Thanks.

Aside from the 101, I suggest that you also get the Bentley Repair Manual.
The Haynes Manual also has a good description. Before you start, get familiar with the 40/44 spline principle. If the main bushings need replacing, get the Neatrix from Pelican. Level ground is essential and expect it to take longer than you think. After you get the height you want, it still needs a 4-wheel alignment and corner balancing. Have fun.

There is no schematic that I'm aware of that shows the splines, but the concept is pretty simple. There are a different number of splines on each end of the torsion bar, and corresponding sections of the tube it fits into. Once installed, rotating the torsion bar in one direction on the inner splines, and then rotating the spring plate/torsion bar cover in the opposite direction will result in small incremental degrees of droop angle for the spring plate. You set it, measure it, and readjust it for the proper angle. Do a search for Wil Ferch's angle calculator, which will make the calculations for you based on torsion bar size, car weight and desired ride height.

Does anyone know what "book" is to pull one rear spring plate and reindex by one spline? I just redid my whole suspension and the rear needed reindexing by one spline on one side. The cost wasn"t nominal. There's like 6 bolts involved in the process and it was all brand new....
