turn signals not flashing
84 stock carrera. turn signals started working intermittently a few weeks back, now nothing.
I have searched and read all the threads on this matter but can't figure this out yet... so please help.. (all behavior is same for front and rear..) ignition off, no key inserted - hazard flashers do not light or flash ignition on, hazards do not light or flash, turn signals don't either pull headlight switch 1 notch (running lights?) - turn signal bulbs light up, still will not flash, hazard flasher does not work either pull headlight to full, headlight and running lights work fine, nothing flashes.. Installed H4's last year and this problem is recent so I can rule out issues there. From reading the threads I'm thinking the issue is in the relay?? If so, which one, and can I swap one of the others temporarily to test? Again, if so, which should I swap? Thanks in advance for suggestions.

had same problem a week ago. it was the flasher. popped in the one from my '72...and problem solved. can you pull one from someone else's to swap in? they're interchangeable over a long period.

by flasher, you mean relay right? Both my neighbors have garage queen late 80's turbo's, hmmm...
don't suppose you know which one I need to pull??

It is inside the front hood compartment, under the dash cover. If you draw an imaginary line from the center of the steering wheel, through the dash toward the front of the car, you'll find it. Don't be tempted to go cheap. There are very few after-market relays that will work. I tried two "generic" European relays from NAPA...neither worked. |

Just got back from the wrenchs place. Yes it was a problem with relay, actually just a 2 min solder job is all that was needed. Turn signals worked..
but turned on headlights and running lights - signals stayed solid, no flash... Turns out one front light socket had a single element bulb instead of a dual element.. swapped bulb, everything works now thankfully, gotta get the miles in before the snow!
