Anyone every Fuch a 993?

Has anyone every put Fuch style rims on a 993? I've been wondering/contemplating this for sometime. I wasn't fully won over by the Boxster earlier this fall we photochopped with Fuchs. I would also likely go bigger diameter if I were to have these made up. I'd NOT go full bling, thinking RSR or painted pedals.

Can anyone try this with a 993 coupe? Its a widebody, so I could use a little dish in the offset Certainly doesn't have to be photo quality, but for us photoshop dumb users free help will have to suffice. Coupe is a necessity and vintage color likely as its a track type car for the photochop if possible (currenly white, though).

Thanks in advance for any help. Option two is likely BBS to go the GT-2 look and keep the Grand Prix White.

The offsets wont work with OEM Fuchs, nor would they fit over the brakes. I believe you could get some custom made ones from a place like Lindsay but I think they would look odd on a modern car.

A 993 is not a "modern" 911, and the shape is very close to the earlier models, so I think a set of 17 inch Lindsey Fuchs would look good. I don't like the stock 993 (or 964) wheels as they have no dish, and the 993's and 964's I have seen with aftermarket wheels, such as Champions or Fikses, look very good, and IMO much better than stock.

There is a reason why they don’t have a dish, and that’s the offsets are all wrong for that style of wheel. Someone with more specific technical knowledge then I can chime in here. The geometry of the hub and the brake offset in a 993 is much more modern then the Fuched wheel cars. I would consider the 993 a much more modern car then any of the 911's that came with Fuchs. The entire suspension is modern, gone is the torsion bar system. The intake and engine management systems are modern. The HVAC system is modern. Are they state of the art for 2007? Of course not. If you compare them to the engineered systems from the Fuchs wheeled cars they're modern.

That’s not saying those older systems are not good, a lot of us love the way the older cars are engineered. In fact for strength and weight the Fuchs are tuff to beat, they're forged steel.

You could take an old tub and create a modern 911, I hardly think the shape is the defining criteria for modern, unless you're pinning that definition completely to aerodynamics.

If you’re point was “more modern” vs. “modern” its semantics.

Yeah, those forged steel Fuchs are pretty strong. I seem to remember them only coming on the '75 Carrera S.

Edit: I like the MY02 wheels on 964s and 993s.

It's an aluminum alloy, actually.

Well, Porsche Doc put Fuchs / Lindsey's on his 964 backdate to early RSR and the offsets looked pretty good. Isn't the offset on the 964 hub about the same as a 993?

Of course with the Fuchs you'd also need a duck tail!? How's this (I think that's a Getty Dseign part).

Yes they're custom made from Lindsay which I mentioned could be made to work.

Wow...I like the Carrera light weights on the 965! I have them on my Boxster S and love them (plus, they are so easy to clean).
