Again another Throttle Linkage Story.

So on my inspection I was told that I wasn't getting full throttle. I thought nothing of it as my car seemed reasonably quick. After browsing Pelican I saw a few more threads on throttle adjustment, so I figured I would take a look Solo.

I sat in the car took my hydraulic floor jack pole and wedged it between my seat and the accel pedal then I slid my seat forward made sure the pedal was all the way to the floor went into the motor compartment and pushed down on the throttle. Low and behold I still had half way to go, Excitement started building at this point.

I jacked up the car and went to the trans linkage and sure enough the linkage could move back at least half or so more. I released the nut holding the balljoint and proceeded to turn the balljoint clockwise 3 full turns I felt the play and determined I was getting full throttle and I proceeded to take the car for a spin.

Holy sheeeet my car hauls ass, I must have been leaving tons of HP on the table because of the out of wack adjustment , 5 minutes 1 8mm wrench and a huge HELL YEAH when i hit 3500 rpms.

Just wanted to share that with you all.

If you have a 911 it is positively the most enjoyable 5 minutes you can have outside sex that is! hhehehe "Pure vehicular orgasm"

JW

PS i did fire up a celebratory Smoke shortly after!!

Any side effects for this adjustment? Beside more gas usage and speeding tickets

No speeding tickets, but i'm positive there will be one this week.

Idle was perfect and exactly the same as when I started!

Actually it doesnt take a weekend. just 5 minutes.

When your under the trans you can actually feel the linkage when you move the linkage towards the front of the car you will feel where the resistance starts, that is the point where the Throttle Butterfly is actually opening. That will tell you how far you need to screw the ballhead clockwise. It's really easy once you get under the car an 8mm open ending wrench is all you need. If can't move the ball as far as you need to adjust you might need to adjust at the pedal cluster but I strongly doubt it.

I would almost wager it is out of adjustment. I'm telling ya it will put a huge grin on your face when you hit that gas!!!
