Testing CDI units

I currently have 3 CDI's in my 911 tarmac rally car. 2 are connected to the twin plug ignition and 1 is a spare. I would like to ensure I'm using the "best" 2 in the ignition circuit and keep the weakest as the spare. Is there any (simple) way to test CDI output?
