What is stock size tires for long hood fuchs six's?

I have some Al Reed restored flat sixes with the half polish, this is going on my 66. I like the size I have on there now but I think it might be a bit short, I cannot remember what I have on there right now so I guess I will just ask. What size tire should I run on my flat sixes on a 66. Remember that 66's are much narrower than the later cars. I am not looking for balloon tires either just some nice width and height that go well with the car. Any pictures would be amazing. Take it easy guys.

And also, what size was on the 1967 911R? I think that did not have flares bigger than the stock 1967 911 right?

I run 195 / 65 / 15's on my 67S. They work out quite well. A little shorter than the stock 185 / 70 / 15. But, not a problem. There aren't a lot of choices.

My 69 has a bit of a flare in the arches over your 66. I had 205/55 series on 6 inch rims. I went up to 7s and put 205/50 series with no problems. Just a little more gap in the wheel well. Yesterday I saw a 67 S with 7Rs, wheel spacers and 225/50 tires. Same kinda gap as my 69 and no rubbing which was surprising.

Tire size is mostly dependent with how you will be driving your car. If you plan on doing mostly Concours events, then only stock will do. If you're running back country roads all day, then you should get a lower profile tire. It won't fill the wheel wells like stock but performance rises drastically. If you drive on bad roads, then a higher sidewall will absorb some bumps. In Paul Frere's "911 Story", the skid pad testing done on stock early cars was around .78 Gs. By the mid 70's, our 911 was able to pull close to .89 Gs on wider tires and rims, so let that help your decision.

195s or 205s in a 55 or 60 series might be a good compromise

I have run 205/60-15s on flat 6s on my '66, '67, and '68 SWB 911s for street use for years with no problems, other than a slight speedo error, and 205/50-15s on 7s for the track (requires fender lip rolling.)
The advantage to a 205/60-15 is that there are many more tires available in that size than the original size and it fills up the wheel well nicely, and the tall sidewall offers nice compliance on rough roads. A 205 is a little bit "baloon-y" on a 6, but they look fine to me.

Great looking cars Tom.

I used to have 205's and they are a bit large on my suspension settings that I think are a little lower than stock. I guess I will go with the 185's or 195's. What size did the 911R have on it? I want a wider tire that is the same height so I guess that would be the second number.

I am surprised that the 911R only had 165X70X15's. Is that 100% correct? They had deep sixes right?

1966 Porsches came stock with either 4.5Jx15 or 5.5Jx15s, not deep sixes, those wheels were available only in part of 1969, all of 1970 and then again part of 1971, just quoting stock.
911R wheels are 7Jx15, so stock on those would be 185x60x15

Attached is a copy of the applicable page from my '71 manual.

Stock 165 HR 15; optional 185/7015

Currently I have 6x15 fronts with 205/60-15 and the rears are 7Rx15 with 215/60-15. Diameter of the 215/60 is very close to the 185/70, and the combination works very well for me.

Any more pictures would be amazing. I just want to make sure I don't look like a Chevy after I install the tires.
