One of the more infamous threads on the 944 board was about a guy bringing his newly purchased 944 with some "issues" to a mechanic.
The mechanic found the prior owner used several socks used in different ways to fix/mask/avoid problems. Socks used to stop rattles, socks used to tie things in place, socks used to divert water leaks, socks as insulation, and a few spare socks in the rear hatch for roadside repairs. Socks under the hood, socks in the interior, socks stuffed all over the car. Wayne, you have legitimized socks as proper repair techniques in the maintenance of Porsches. I expect a new section in the parts section, with photos, part numbers, and explanations of the best use of socks. This 944 also had some old lamp cords used for electrical repairs. You may want to go get a couple of old lamps from goodwill and keep them in the 959 for spare parts. |
Wayne,
Sock? Wow, I always just used my tongue. You learn something everyday. BTW, Jessica is in the kitchen makin breakfast, she says hello. Noah, she said shame on you for not paying closer attention to pop culture. Oh, she's a cuddler. JackMan |
