Rear Parking Brake

Started working on getting the rear parking brake sorted out. From what we can tell the RSs with lug nuts used the typical brake shoe 911 rear emergency brake while the cars with center locks use the "clothes pin" style rear e brake. This build will be using the Zuffenhaus 930 style calipers that conveniently are premade to mount the clothes pin style setup. AASE currently offers a kit that is made to work with the Zuffenhaus made caliper.

AASE kit to be installed:

Is there a target date for completion? Just curious...

Will this be a static display, Pebble Beach Concours, cars & coffee, or tracked? Asking simply because of the level of details that are going into this car and the time it has taken so far to complete such details.

Hi Gus,
Great question, nothing specific with regard to a completion date, my hope is before the end of the year including the sorting that will be required to get this running well. It will be interesting to see if its possible to make the slide valves perform well on the street.

Plan is to use the car for PCA events/C&C/and 7 tenths DE driving. I live near tail of the dragon, definitely planning on some mountain weekend trips!

Mounting point on the caliper for the bracket:

When we went to install the mounting bracket that came with the kit it was discovered that it wasn't wide enough for our aftermarket rotor which is 32mm thick. The kit is made for the stock 930 rotor which is 25mm or less. Ended up having to fabricate a wider bracket to fit our rotor:

@ktr6 Oh man! Great to see an update! Glad to hear there is momentum, as well.

Has this car been moved from North Carolina?? I see your location has changed to Knoxville.

afaik the same sizes as the '73/74 RSR

Those calipers are so cool. The parking brake though...pretty sketch LOL. Not Porsches best, but I get the situation and the era and the goal....

The only thing missing is a can of spray paint sitting on the roof.

We're printing the weld-on bits for mock up this morning while I work on the chassis. Once proven out, we'll make some templates to transfer the cut lines to the steel stock and get the mounts made & installed on the tub.

I need this tool. Does anyone know where I can get one (or 2), or can anyone make me one?
