Post Where did the window go?

Had an interesting event. Had a car pull up alongside and motioned for me to lower my window. I tried, hearing the mechanism move but the window did not. When I opened the door, the window dropped. It will come up and I must assume that the glue gave out that hold the window to the actuator frame. Has anyone had this occur to them and how did they remedy the situation.

I had the same problem on mine, it turned out to be the window channel, that the window slides up and down in. When it wears out it lets the window cock sideways and binds it in the channel. Thus your mech goes down and the window stays up until you touch it and then it falls. Replacing the channel was a little time consuming, but well worth it.

same here, a few weeks ago my driver's-side regulator let go. It's the early scissors type that is held together by rivets. Now I know rivets don't last forever.

I drilled out the rivet and put in a machine screw and nut; seems to be holding up fine so far.
