Do you use data acquisition? What system?
I started this thread in autocross and racing and wanted to poll a wider audience: I am trying to get feedback on the various data acquisition systems people are using from the low end, like G2X and Trackmate to the higher end like AIM and STACK. Especially interested in the GPS systems that are easy to move from car to car. Anyone want to share their experiences? Compare software? ease of use, problems?
my original thread is here: Data Acquisition - what are you using and do you recommend it? Thanks, JB |

I use JPI
EDM-700 I haven't hooked up the download history feature as it's not needed for my act. No GPS, not easily removable unless you rig another car with all sensors, costs around $2,500. I love it. ![]() EGT and CHT numerical. EGT bar graph ![]() EGT [cylinder power] differential between cylinders ![]() another group of inputs available

Any thoughts about this? http://www.racepak.com/IQ3Dash/
Looks like the display of the AIM merged with the G2X acquisition. Built-in GPS is a plus - it is a $$$ add-on with the AIM. Also nice that is has a removable flash card, vs. hooking up a USB cable. |

Ronin, I don't think he's looking for engine monitoring, but rather track data: lap times, acceleration, braking feedback, cornering G's, etc on a lap-over-lap comparison basis.
