Guys,
This specific problem can also be related to dry, and\or rusted pilot needle bearings for the transaxle input shaft. If all/most of the moly has gone away ... the resultant rust buildup on the needle bearing rollers can cause a constant torque on the input shaft pilot area, and the reverse gear won't shift without grinding.

If it were the oil beeing thick in the transmission, I would guess pressing the clutch would stop the gears from spinning sooner... Am I missing something here?
