Thanks guys, its been an interesting project so far, I didn’t post much as I lost a bunch of photos and it was mostly boring stuff, onion syndrome.
Mcvgums sorry to hear about your experience with Hot wheels. The painting was way more than I expected was planning around $3.5K but ended up being $6.5K. They explained about doing black cars and it came out great and I am glad that I didn’t do this myself. This project in general is costing way more than I planned and is a result of going down the slippery slope and over the cliff. I will post the financials at the end of the project for those who are interested as it might help working on a budget for a similar project. Gonna have to speak to my GF about the DV helmet thing, that is one ugly helmet. Onboost, sounds good, let me know when you are coming to town maybe we can get together. |

My God, it's full of stars...

Subscribed because I want to see the beauty of this thing coming together. Also because I like your garage and can picture myself there happily drinking beer, listening to tunes and fitting each little bit. Let the good times roll and work on the suspension first to avoid damaging the paint!

I could look at just the body of a 911 all day long. Well, painted that nice would make it so. It's almost a shame to assemble the car.
Not. :D |

Progress Update 1
Progress is slow, I am tied up in conference calls all day (nice vacation) trying to work between calls.
The headlight buckets were expoy primed and there is some over-spay that I need to clean up. Will cover it with wurth or POR15. Completed so far: 1) SKS Stone guard on gas tank bottom, front and rear fender wells 2) New 23mm MC and front hard break lines and refurbished pedal box 3) Left front suspension 4) Left rear mock-up to get the spacing correct for the polybronze bushes http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1197558893.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1197559000.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1197560034.jpg I see a lot of scrubbing in my future to get this floor cleaned again, it looks disgusting..:( http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1197559089.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1197559269.jpg Couldnt resist doing this to keep me motivated :) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1197559534.jpg Gert |

Gertvr,
Will definitely let you know when I get in your area... That working between conference calls is always fun... I remember the days that I worked from home most of the time. I used to keep the lap-top sitting on the bench or under the car with me depending on what I doing.. hands free head-set on mute.. always made things interesting as I was called upon or needed to make comment! Multi-tasking at its best! Yeah, I'm sure you could resist that last effort... she gonna be nice!. Paul |
Hah, just wait until the GF is wearing her favorite pair of jeans..... then ask her, "why do you always wear "those" jeans?" She'll ask why? Reply, "Ah, well, they make your butt look big." Pay back paid in full.
Your car is very sweet, love that paint job. Take your time, enjoy every moment with her (the car) ha, ha. Cheers, |
