Dang son, that is one sweet ride! How did you remove the old paint? Blast, sand or chemicals? What primer was used?

How will you ever get this thing out of the garage? It looks so clean and perfect that if it were my car and my hard work, i would not want to get it on the road. I would probably just end up putting it on display in my living room, blocking the television

Killer looking car! I feel your pain regarding obscene bills. My electrical problems went from $2K to $4k and ended up at $6.8K. Of course some of that bill was 'do it while it is tore apart' maintenance and upgrades.

Progress Update 2
Here is another progress update. I had so many interruptions that i ended up spending not even cose as much time as i hoped and the initial plan was to be finished by Christmas, not sure who i ever could have thought that was possible.
The fitting of the panels and new components like the MSD took the a long time to complete and the wiring took the longest by far and was the biggest pain. After fitting the wheels it looks like they are all going to need spacers to fill the wells and the back wheels are also just rubbing on the oil lines. I ordered PMO carbs in October and still have not recived the manifolds to complete the engine bay not sure whats up with that. Additional work completed so far Gearbox assembled, Engine installed, Oil cooler lines installed. rerouting of fuel lines, MSD Installation, rewiring of engine wiring harnass to remove CIS wiring battery relocation complete, wiring installed and checked Trunk area complete except for gas tank filler tube, Rear bumper installed and fitted We were planning to have this as a daily driver, autocross and track day car but i have some reservations about that now. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Some more to come....

Progress Update 3
Some more pictures of work completed yesterday.
Installed fenders, Steering wheel, positioned oil cooler After installing the steering wheel, there was no way of getting a full view of the gauges with out realigning them. I will have to send them in later to get the faces changed to be visible under the small steering. Engine bay done last week, spill over from update 2.. ![]() Trunk wiring and battery relocation: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Getting ready to fit the front fenders ![]() ![]() Small steering wheel problem.. ![]() Still to be done this coming week: Rout flexible oil lines, fit front bumper install headliner on the weekend.

Cool, just figured out how to use the multi quote function..
Quote:
. I used the Odyssey 925. There is a smaller one (680) not sure if it will be capable enough for street going car with all electronics, winter starting etc. Maybe someone with a 680 installed can pitch in. Quote:

I have a 680 installed. Two years without any issues, car is on battery maintainer the majority of the time but I have left it off for several weeks in the winter and did not have starting issues. I'm in Memphis so we have the same climate as you. -NICE car BTW!

Update 3
This was propably the most frustrating part of the build to date , The aluminum trimming that goes in the window seal rubber was a pain and even more so the wiring for the rear window defroster. The 1st new pop out rear quarter window seal just didnt want to go in, and stay in the wondow frame groove. With some aggressive language and preserverance finally figured out how to make it stay put, after that no problems for the 2nd window
Ahh.. then the Appbiz carpets.... i finished installing the B-Quiet sound deadening at 9pm one night and moved on to the start installing the carpets, well there was no instructions, it took quite a while ,3 hrs to be presice, to get it all figured out i.e. what goes where and the sequence of events, now i know why i played Tetris.... The ign coil is to close to the driver side carb and will have to be moved to where the fuel filter is now and relocate the filter close to the pump. So, completed since the last update: Front Bumper and brake cooling. Head liner and new A & B Pillar trim New Dash Windows New Carpets Finally received the inlet manifolds and installed the carbs. Here are some pictures of the progress 1/11/08 ![]() ![]() ![]() 1/29/08 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Some more later...

FYI, since you're going to carbs, you won't be needing the CIS accumulator any more.
