I have been looking, and looking and LOOKING for a reasonably priced set of 16X8 fuchs. They are no where to be found. SO,,, I have a question. Since 16X7's are pretty easy to find......... What do you think about putting 7's all the way around on my 85 carrera and using 1 inch spacer in the back to push them out to fill the finder well? This setup would also make tire rotation much easier and extend the tire life too.

Cjim, that is what the PO of my SC did. I believe he used the same spacers as used on the 930's. If you take a look at the images of my car on my website, you will see the 7 inchers fill out the fenders quite nicely. No rubbing problems, either.

Here is an example showing my 86 Carrera with 1" wheel adapters on 7" wheels and 225 50 tires, hope it comes out fine
wheel adapters used OEM studs and were $100 each from Ralph Booth (advertises in Excellence and was mentioned in Bruce Andersons handbook) |

Those prices are incredibly reasonable!!
I was offered 7'and 8's for $1,000 and I only need the 8's!!!! I was going to sell off the 6's and 7's. Does anyone know if they have these items in stock or do you just have to wait on back order for years. These wheels are normally hard to find! |

I don't see the word Fuchs appearing anywhere on that site. Replicas are cheap, but they often aren't as strong or light as genuine Fuchs -- and sometimes aren't even permitted at track events.

Give them a call at their 1-800 number or email them. I'm not positive but I believe the rims they have are not new. They are ones that have been picked up and been completely refinished so they look perfect. The garage I work at has dealt with them many times and have always been satisfied. I haven't personally seen any that where bought but I have seen a rim that was sent to them because of a scracth on it and they returned it better than new. If your in the central PA area I can get you a better deal on them because we have an account!

If you read the FAQ section, the rims are all remanufactured or replica rims. Caveat emptor ...
