Decode your options codes

I found a great website that has an options database for decoding your cars options. Here is what was on my car:
Code Option Description
261 Passenger side mirror - electric - plain
395 Light metal wheels - forged
441 Fader, antenna booster, 4 speakers
441 Radio speakers and antenna amplifier
468 Graduated tint windshield, green side glass
474 Sport shock absorbers (Bilsteins)
559 Air conditioner (with front & rear condenser)
650 Sunroof

Questions:
1. Are the "Light metal wheels - forged" the same as Fusch wheels?
2. Are the "Sport Shock Absorbers (Bilsteins) the same as the sport Bilsteins sold by Pelican or are they normal Bilsteins?

Can anyone give me any interesting info from this VIN and engine number:
VIN: WPOZZZ 91ZES102428
Engine number: 93020-63E.

I don't know about the engine number.

1. Yes, they're fuchs.
2. I believe they're normal Bilstein's (I think they're called HD's?)
Mine has those two options as well.

The 93020 should read 930/20 which is the engine type. It translates to a 1984 RoW car with 231 hp.

63E are the first three digits of the engine serial number. It should be
63Exxxxx (5 digit sequential production number)

For the LIFE of me I can't find my option codes!
There aren't any labels underside of hood, glovebox, doorjambs showing anything other than Vin # and tyre info...


I did the CofA and it showed very limited info: Pirelli tyres, electric pass side mirror
lots of "information not available" listed !!

I already decifered the Vin#

But does anyone know how to find out what options your Porsche came with if labels aren't available anymore?? I heard someone say to call PCNA and give them your Vin#...but this didn't get me very far either....

? Ha, my question mark is back, now I can ask a question...
I just got in from the garage looking for my option code list...
I can't see it on the car and can't find it in the info package that came with the car.
Do I need to order a CoA (not a certificate of airworthiness but sometime I wonder) from Porsche or is there another way to get this info??

A few years ago I called PCNA, gave them the VIN and they read me the options codes that were originally built. Haven't tried it recently though.

One of the mistakes some people on this board make is to assume that all 911s were built in the same way. In this case, you have been given the impression that your car has a label listing the options that came with it. Likely, this piece of advice was given by a well meaning owner of a later car that DID have a label. Sadly, Porsche didn't always do this ( I can't remember what year it started) so you don't have one. All is not lost.

With a little detective work, you can figure it out yourself. First, you have to learn what was standard and what was optional for your year, in the market that the car was first delivered to. Then, you look at your car and see what you have.

As an example, if you have a heated rear window (obvious from the wires in it) you can look at the knob on the dash that controls it, or the relay in the engine compartment that runs it, and determine if you have a single stage or double stage heated rear window.

Or, if you have a radio antenna in the left fender, it's a manual antenna. If it's in the right fender, it's a power antenna.

And so forth....
