Mark, great job - looks fantastic. Tell me what you did to the strap and A/C clutch......simple rattle can or something more complex since you're in the paint biz.
BTW, I took a little Mothers on a rag and the shine comes right back after a year with just a little elbow grease.

Thanks Mark, nope just good old Krylon, primer and then paint. A little trick... For the mfg. plate on the compressor I just smeared some vasoline on it. After the paint dries just wipe it off. Also I just 'masked' off the engine bay with big green garbage bags, lazy mans spraybooth, LOLOL.
My name is Mark and I'm a Polisher ( I knew the shine would come back, good for you!)

Nice job Mark. I don't think a spray can clear would be strong enough to last in that environment, but since the powder coated fans seem to last, I think there is a clear powder coat that might work to keep it looking nice.

Hi Angela, the fan & housing are magnesium. I took the housing to a machine shop to bead blast it. afterwards I found 2 small cracks near the ears. The shop guy said he'd weld them up for me. I said I thought they were magmesium, which they turned out to be, that's the welding rod he used.
Thanks John, I didn't use any clearcoat on the housing or the fan. I think even powder would just chip off. As Mark said just a little elbow grease now & again will keep the shine up.
