Idle Control Valve Question - probably broken

Hello

Thanks to everyones help, I have probably found a problem
Bosch Idle Control Valve PN 0280 140 501

Measures 42ohms on the outer terminals, but nothing whatsoever on the middle to any outer terminal. Does this mean its had it??

I have cleaned it , so its certainly clean inside, but idles always been lumpy and crapish. Pulling the plug of also does nothing to the engine note.

Any advice?

Anyone in the UK got a used one? otherwise I'll go new.!
Cheers
Poze

Sure sounds bad to me. I recently cleaned mine and it measured 20ohms from the center pin to either outside pin and 40 ohms across the outside.

does the throttle closed micro-switch open and close properly? you should be able to hear it click just as the throttle is manually opened and closed, but test with an ohmmeter for actual function..

Hello

The microswitch closes properly and is perfectly adjusted.
The engine difinetly 'wobbles' and is uneven on tickover, but has loads of clean power when accelerating.

Idleing along slowly its fairly juddery at certain RPMs, but resonable.
Im measuring the inner and outer terminals and theres 0 anything, whereas the outer>outer has 42ohms of resistance.

Think i need a new one! makes sense from what the problem is.

Did some research last night and the same Bosch units also fitted on Volvo 400 series cars! so could be cheap to pick one up.

Cheers!
