Post Cleaning Vinylex?

Here's one for the car care experts out there. I got some Lexol Vinylex (kind of like armorall) and used it on the rubber part of my turbo tail. Worked fine, but some splattered onto the tail's grill (the part with ~1/2" slots). I'm not sure if the grill is painted, anodized, or what, but the Vinylex seems to have "soaked in" and left darker spots that don't want to wash out. Anybody know now to clean this stuff off? Or if it'll go away eventually? Thanks, Eric H 87 Targa

I had the same problem with degreaser getting on my paint near the rear of the hood, which is probably much worse than your vinylex.
You'll need some good wax, maybe the turtle wax scratch remover. Wax the spots with that.
If that doesn't work, a small amount of rubbing compound will definitely remove the residue from the paint (if it bonded to the paint or clear coat), then you can rewax those areas to get them back to the shine of the rest of the tail. Good luck.

Thanks Kurt. I did get some on painted parts of the body and it washed off easily. The grill is different, though - it's got a flat finish over aluminum I believe. No clearcoat or wax, not shiny. The Vinylex sort of soaks in... for now I'm hoping it will disappear on it's own. I'm hesitant to wax over spots but may try it later. I normally don't wax that part though. Eric H 87 Targa

Try a little dish soap in water and apply it with a wet rag.
