Radius arm and ride height
I've had my 84 TLC for about 2 months now and have been bitten by the european ride height bug. Can anyone tell by the pictures below if my rear ride height is at the lowest or highest setting for the eccentric screw. The current height from floor to top of wheelwell is 26.2 inches. It looks like the PO may have already adjusted it. Not sure.

Based on these pics the PO seems to have raised the car previously, however you can only get a small ride height adjustment this way. To lower the car to Euro height from 26.2 you'll have to reindex the torsion bars. Based on how offcenter your end cap is in the coverplate in the lower pic I would assume your overdue for bushing replacement.
Do some reading up, this is a very complex subject. Also you will need a special Porsche ride height tool to use on the springplate bolt. Ulrich |

AND after the reindexing you WILL need a 4 wheel alignment and a corner balance. Your toe and camber are also adjusted by the bolts you showed, their primary is for alignment and not ride height. The main ride height adjustment for the rear is reindexing the rear torsions. Good advice from ulrichd to read up on it and know what your getting into. I would absolutely agree that new spring plate bushings be part of the equation.

Agree with Ulrichd, the pictures show a raising trace. To really raise or lower an older P-car you need to reindex the t-bars.

With all the work required to change the springarm bushings it seems like it may be worth it to change the torsion bars at the same time and consider changing to the quick adjust elephant racing arms. I plan on doing some DE/autocross so I'm not sure if this would be overkill or not.

Welcome to the slippery slope also known as "while you are in there" or in your case down there. How old are your shocks, swaybar bushings? Front end: tie-rods, bearings, balljoints...?
Get a Bentley manual and "101 Projects for your 911" and start reading. It will give you an idea of what you may feel comfortable doing yourself. Ulrich |

You should be able to lower your ride height by at least 2" with the eccentric screw alone. I would try that before opening a nasty can of worms.
