I have a 92 C4 and can't get heat out of the drivers side footwell. The passenger side works fine. I've inspected the heat exchanger connections and they work fine. There must be a servo-controlled damper of some kind under the dash. Can anyone suggest what and where to check?

Is it just in the footwell, or on all driver side vents. I ask because I had a similar problem with mine a while back. It turned out to be a bad motor that controls the drivers side air mixer.
Under the front hood, remove the plastic water shield by the windshield. Underneath are 5 motors that control the drivers and passenger side air temperature mixers, windshield and footwell opening controls, and fresh air control. The motor might be bad, not letting the mixer close. Don't remember who - or even if on this board, but I heard from someone else who had the same problem, except it eventually distorted/melted the vent nozzle bad enough where it had to be replaced. Hope this helps. Brian Smith '91 C2 |

Yes, the problem just seems to be in the footwell. I'll go check out th motors per your suggestion. Thanks
