If you like white you can't go wrong with Gran Prix White. Otherwise I vote Mexico Blue.

I like my Midnight Blue for two reasons:

1. Looks great in daylight, very shiny, and shows the curves due to shadows on the car from the darker color.

2. Midnight Blue then looks like Glossy Black at night. Two colors in one.

The turbo was number 3 according to my reading. First was the 69S which Chad still owns. This was followed by the 70S purchased by Solar and used during the making of Le Mans and the third was the '76 Turbo. The Turbo actually passed thru Dino Martin and his at the time girl friend Dorothy Hamill before winding up with it's current owner....Technically since McQueen still owned the '69S and his '58 Speedster at the time of his death they were his last Porsches.
I'm just talking "Last" as in most current.

It is a very intriging color.

I thought it was cool in the mid 70's! Even found someone to buy the car like this.

Vern, I like the background of that pic...on the left.

OK, about the color. Gotta be midnight blue. Why? Surprisingly, nobody has mentione the unique thing about SCs: The black bumper bellows, which, honestly, don't thelp the cars "graphics" or "flow". On a light colored car, they stick out like sore thumbs, IMO. To my eye, SCs (at least stock ones) look best in darker colors, as the bellows blend in.

Now, if you've done mods, and are running different bumpers, all bets are off.

And, if you are open minded, think about other colors too, like BMWs carbon black. looks black, but with deep fine metalic highlights in the sun.

Make this a poll!

I am for midnight blue out of your choices. Dark colors really bring out the lines of a car. Delivery-vehicle-white ist he worst in that respect and boring as hell.

Just my two cents. If I have the choice, I always go for the dark color.

All Right, All Right,

I'm getting a good picture of where to take this now....

All these cars look great, and it's clear also, that some shades really work on certain vintages, IE- the chrome trim early cars really bring out the lighter colors, where our post 1980 blacked out trim cars hold the darker colors really well.

I'm down right now to :

Peru red (any other pics of peru out there for me to see?

Carmine red

-Signal Orange is also in the back of my mind now....that is my favorite all time porsche color, I'm not sure that I can do it to my targa however...esp. on the wide rs cars, it is very sweet.

Big 2nd. A key part of my views on 911 aesthetics. For me, however, it's a sliding scale--in a pinch I might vote for the Carmine Red.

I'm a guards red fan on a Porsche, but here is my marine blue metallic. I wouldn't have bought this color new, but grew into it once I had the car.

My prev. sc coupe was very close to Marine Blue, very nice color-almost like a gun-metal blue hue, with some silver in it.

Yeah, Lateapex, she was indeed very nice. Let's see, she would be about 55 years old now but probably would have aged well.

Flat Six!

Aaron,

I thought I recognized that shop! I love the brown on that car. I had a minor accident with mine in November and got it repainted the original color.

I would say that I can't wait to see you, but usually that involves my check book.
