'71 versus '73 starter question
I am installing a '73 2.4L engine with 915 transmission in my '71 911. I have the starter from the '71 which was mounted on the 901 transmission. I would like to use the '71 starter, but the Porsche parts catalogue shows two different starters.
Does anyone know the difference? And, would the '71 starter work with the '73 set up? Thanks for your help.

The exchange versions are called SR17X (2,0 and 2,2) and SR68X (2,4). The 68 has more power, they are interchangable.
