Porsche Crest Grady Clay returns home from his "vacation"

Hey, Pelicans:

Our buddy, Grady Clay, had a little unplanned vacation when he went to the doctor last Wed., not feeling too well, and ended up admitted to the CU Medical Center hospital. He spent about 31 hours in the ER with them trying to find out why he lost control of his legs and why he was hurling all over the place. Finally they put him in the cardiac ICU and started poking and prodding him like some lab rat.

Of course, before it was all over, he had charmed every nurse in the place and had the MDs eating out of his hand. He's amazing!

He's now back home, wallet much lighter, and no answers for why he had this little episode. They have a long list of ailments they're pretty sure he doesn't have however. So I guess we can say that Grady just spent a bunch of dough on a PPI.

Man, I sure hope all is well. He had damned well better get some answers for the episode.....as this is a case where the PPI (I would assume this to mean POST) renderers DO have a higher responsibility to find problems...(bet he didn't see any Bentley manuals laying around...)

Grady, I hope you're doing OK, bud! Well wishes....

(and thanks for the PMs on my stud issue...)

My best,

“IT’S ALIVE!”

At least that is what I want to say every time I get out of an MRI machine (at least this one was a Siemens). Those should be props for a 1930s Boris Karloff movie. The only things missing were some Jacob’s Ladders and knife switches.

Three trips to the hospital since November mean I’m seeing too many doctors and neglecting Porsche. This last one was six! days.

What appeared to be a stroke turned out to be something ‘undetermined’. We have some theories we are pursuing. I went from feeling like cr@p and almost immobile to now almost back to normal. They did send me home with a ‘walker’. Ha! Aside from recovering from whatever, I probably got the most through 6-day physical of my life.

The other two hospitalizations were for a kidney stone. The most painful thing you can imagine. The female docs & nurses who have had one say it is twice as painful as childbirth.

I had my laptop but no internet connection in the CICU. This resulted in “Pelican Withdrawal” additional symptoms. When the ‘Franco-American Chamber of Commerce’ meeting on CSPAN starts to look interesting - - - well there is ‘off’. Pelican rbuswell stopped by on Sunday bearing gifts – DVDs on loan, some fruit and mostly good company.

Now comes the hard part – catching up on the Forum.

Best,
Grady

A bag of Demeral is the only thing that works. For 3 hours. And then you need another bag. At home, Torodal is the best, but very hard to get. Tylenol 3s, Oxicodone etc are pretty well useless. I'm a kidney stone pro.

Get well soon, Grady!

Grady,

Funny to read your take on the MRI. I worked on these beasts (engineer) back during the '85-'95 timeline (never for Siemens) but for everybody else. It;s funny finding myself begging for advice on what would seem to be SO simple to the likes of yourself (such as my recently broken thermostat stud),..while knowing I spent a decade flipping those Hydrogen protons to get images (I can assure you and anyone else here that it's a VERY complex process requiring smart people such as myself,..ya' know: the ones who ALSO stare at a broken stud and go "WTF" now?

...very, very funny.

Hope your ok...they'll get an answer to you soon, I would hope.

Best,
