RSR/RS door strap/handle???

Where are you guys buying the RS/RSR style red door straps and trim pieces from? Am I just not looking in the correct area on Pelican? I've found a few websites that are selling complete panel kits, but I just need the straps and little black trim plastics that surrounds the hole in the door panel for the strap itself

I used rockclimbing webbing. Its soft, durable, comes in lots of colors and cheap. I used standard electrical firewall grommets to pass the pull straps through the door card. My card was from appbiz. The plastic handles that came with them were crap.

Hmm, I'm going to give that a shot. The kit car will have gullwing doors and I need a strap to reach up and grab to pull them closed. This sounds like a perfect alternative to the real RS pull straps.

Is this webbing something EMS might sell locally, or something I have to get offline????

Holy f'ing cripe I did realize you were this close Bill! Shows how much I pay attention around here. Should meet up sometime.

Back to the topic at hand....I'll head over there tomorrow and check it out. I usually try to avoid Albany (hate the traffic)

any REI (or EMS used to be big back East) will have it

you can get flat webbing, or tubular webbing

IF somebody tells Bob, he'd likely provide it...

Wevo do a really nice inner handle that replicates the crappy plastic one with a nice milled alloy one http://wevo.com/Products/BodyTrimProducts/WevoBodyTrimProducts-RLiteHandle.htm

Crappy handles.....

Bob at APPBIZ here.

The plastic handles are from Porsche, but made in Italy by Fiat.

We totally agree that they are terrible. But when a customer orders a 73 RS replica panel, thats what came from the factory and thats what we ship them.

I sure like the look of those Wevo handles, BRAVO!
Bob

P.S. Just contacted Wevo about distrubuting those terrific handles!

Bob,
Thanks for the clarification. In hindsight my comment is harsh but accurate.

The door cards themselves are nice, and I am very happy with my RS carpet kit from appbiz. They shipped quickly, had good prices and the instructions were very good.
