particle filter and brake fluid change
I have a 944 and have been coming to Pelican for a while. My Dad is the lucky one with a 2007 911 C4. He bought the car in October and the dealership called a couple days ago saying the car is supposed to come in already. Their reason is the brake fluid needs to be change.
I am curious as to how hydraulic fluid has gone bad in three months. Actually, how does it go bad at all? This is a new one for me and was curious if any of you chemistry suave guys have any ideas for this. Also reading through the maintenance schedule, it needs a new particle filter which seems to differ from the fuel, air and oil filters since those all get their own replacement dates. What is the particle filter? When does the flux capacitor get changed? is that two years from manufacturing too? Apparently these cars have come a long way since my '90 S2 but I just wanted to make sure these are actually beneficial services and not just an ignorance fee. Thanks for your help. -Pete

I would agree with Harry regarding the particle filter being a cabin air filter. Inserted in the HVAC system, it filters air as it circulates through the vent system.
I'm sure the PAG filter is going to be expensive (?). For an alternate source, try Denso, USA. They carry a full line of cabin AFs. They might have one for your Dad's ride. Sherwood |

No, it's not that expensive (+/- 25 USD). |
