Okay...I have posted this before, but in conjunction with other topics...maybe giving it its own thread will get some responses out of your guys...
Do you guys know if the later 911's came with one touch windows...if so were they one touch up and down, or just down I find these to be so convenient...and wanted to do these to my SC Can I use any car window switch...it she one touch mechanism in the switch or are there external components on the window regulator and such... thanks for your help Mark Jo |

On a related topic, does anyone know if BMW window switches can be used interchangeably with Porsche ones? The BMW ones seem a better design for my retractable spoiler. I can post pictures of the rear pins, if that will help.
(But answer 82SC's question first, so it doesn't look like I'm stepping on his thread. ![]() ------------------ Jack Olsen 1973 911 T (3.6) sunroof coupe jackolsen@mediaone.net |

Jack, how is the BMW switch designed better than the Porsche one, for you spoiler.
Just curious because I am about to wire the C2 tail up to my SC. ------------------ Kenneth Silver 81' Targa |

I wouldn't worry if I were you. It's a very minor difference. The BMW switch has two seperate buttons, one for up, one for down, and they're labeled with two different arrows. For some reason, I thought it would be easier (with arrows) to remember which direction the spoiler would go in.
A very minor difference, I'll admit. |

82SC-
Just came across an ad in the latest issue of Kit Car Magazine that might solve your problem. Check out- http://www.autoloc.com/detail.lasso?itemid=WC1000 for "one touch" window switches. Appears to use OEM switch. Ed '88 930S |

Hey, this thread keeps working for me. I can use the one touch thing with my retractable spoiler, as well. No more counting out six seconds while I hold the switch.
Mark, I think the best I can do for hijacking your thread is to offer a ride in a 73 911 with a 3.6, some time. Believe me, it's worth it. ------------------ Jack Olsen 1973 911 T (3.6) sunroof coupe jackolsen@mediaone.net |

Hey Jack
I am in the SoCal area and have been keeping my eyes peeled for your car. Being a student with tutoring as my sole income for the car, I am envious of the primming your car gets and your track excursions. I am definately putting PCA and POA events in my near future... Maybe some SoCal guys should get together for a ride in the Mulholland area... When I first got the car...I purposely got myself lost in that area and drove literally for 3 hours...finally taking topanga to PCH and home... I just may take you up on that offer one of these days...and yes I think a one touch switch is perfect for your wing... My PO did it to the sunroof on my car, and it is great, that I can just hit it once and drive away while it opens itself... And thanks for the link!
