RSR & 930 brake rotors

Can anyone confirm the fittment of Brembo Racing cast iron rotor XA3.33.10/11 to the genuine 3.0RSR & 78-80 930 hats ??

Rotor is 304mm x 32mm with 12.6mm slots based on 176.8mm PCD

As direct replacement for 930-531-047-00 ???

I can't confirm for sure but it sure looks correct.

It would be nice to know this for sure as another source of these rotors.

Bertbeagle - while you have the measuring stick out, could you also please advise PCD for the 12 (6mm) fasteners on the backing ring ?
Thanks
John

BertB will be able to give you a definitive answer if anyone can. His company, Prosystems caters more to the stock car arena but Brembo products are their business.

also given that that rotor is the correct size for use on a 911 or 930 w/ 930 or 993 calipers. I'll bet that Bert's Co. can supply a hat assembly that will work even if they turn out not to be compatible w/ the 930 floating hats.

brake rotor

I believe it is a replacement for the 930 rotor.

This rotor is available from Brembo. It is an old part, apparently out of production for a while. It is now back in production with a new part # (the number on the installation drawing above is the new #).

I have ordered some for stock. We will make some aluminum hats for this rotor and the mounting hardware. Availability - around 8 weeks.

Bert,
What would the cost per side be with hat and rotor? Cheaper, hopefully than the factory floating rotor?

Bill,

I presently have 993 front calipers over 309x32 HD wilwood rotors on an 83SC with 951 7"x16" fuchs.

Would it be possible to swap-out the 993 calipers with 930 calipers to facilitate clearance on a 15" fuchs wheel (without further modification) or would I also need to change the rotor/hat referred to in this thread?

Thx
Martin

No, the 930 calipers are curved to conform to the available wheel space, 993 are not. In addition the width of the 993s is much greater.

Interesting topic,

I am interested in doing an upgrade to my rsr replica from SC/Carrera brakes to 930 brakes. I can't upgrade to 'Big Reds' because I want to keep 15" wheels. What else would I requre, besides these rotors and hats to complete this brake upgrade?
Has anybody used the brakes that pelican sells:

I am a neophyte to brakes...

Depends on what you want to do w/ the car.

The MY78-80 930 rotors and calipers are the best available that will still fit in 15" wheels
2 issues w/ iinstallation on an SC/Carrera
1) front rotors- Absolute hands down best is oem 304x32 annulus w/ floating hats. issue $$$. If BB can supply the Brembos discussed above w/ a flat hat, floating or non at a reasonable price that would be fantastic and the way to go.
2) rear calipers - 930 rotors need some expensive machining to change fromr 3.5" axial mount to 3" axial mount to bolt on an SC/Carrera

Other than those 2 issues the 930s are a bolt on, also needed is a 930 m/c also a bolt on

Sorry about that.

use apage@prosystembrakes.com

Feel free to give me a call at Pro-System any time. 704-799-8100. Although this week I am at SEMA and Daytona, I typically don't travel much and am usually there M-F.

The hats and mounting bobbins are being made and we have a few rotors in now with more on the way. Caliper mounts for virtually any caliper can also be made.

I will post pictures of the rotor assembly and details on this thread as soon as we have hats ready.

Thanks

Ashley Page
