Good job!

Hey, really nice job!! When it comes to looks, your car kicks alot of you know what in that department anyway! I'm no racer, but I'd like to think I can appreciate a good thing when I see it and looks like you did a really fine job! I hope you drive it ALOT now. I drive mine everyday & feel pretty good about that!

If I ever get this done this would be my idea of the wide-body. It has been in my garage for 3 years and I could use a little inspiration to just get it done!

The car is a 67 912 tub I bought while restoring my 66 912, the flares are Rennspeed ST flares that I bought for another project, as for front fenders and headlights they are 912 fenders and the original headlight buckets, my plan was to use the lens from a 993 (the glass fits not the whole fixture). the front bumper is completely custom and unfinished. I do intend to try and get the car sorted out this winter as I will be spending alot of time in the garage building a Cobra reproduction

The front fender door side flanges were more than an inch off in some places.
Look at the repaired pie cuts. Not an afternoon shade-tree bolt on. :)

Here's mine. I don't have pictures from being narrow, because it was widened in the early '80s. But I painted it in 2006.

Hey Don are those front fenders from Better Bodies and are you satisfied with their fit and finish. They would work well with my current project and speed up the completion time.

Reaper930 10-20-2008 07:55 PM

Ted, I really liked it in that configuration - but I can totally understand the change to the 993 and now RSR setup. Much more versitle. I do have to admit that I read through your original thread about 20 times right after I gave the order to begin the bodywork on the Blackbird...a real inspiration.

kit

mark, after much research and looking at other kits i went with N/R auto kit, mainly because i like the frp bumpers (fiberglass reinforced plastic, very flexy compared to pure f/glss bumpers. and he threw in all the oem lights, markers, 993 h/lamps fenders were actually a pretty good fit, but as aways, if you want them perfect, a little work to do

A 5 1/2 year transformation. What started as a comfy 1983 SC car from California with a full leather interior is now this beast:

Here are some pics of mine - bought it on ebay. '74 coupe w/ '84 3.2 and "turbo in a box." I love it, but consider it a "work in progress."

Can I assume you will replace the front fenders ?
