C-Clip on steering column
Can anyone tell me what the c-clip just under the spindle does?
I can't see that it does anything except keep the steering wheel from being too close to the dash, but I'm tall and need a little extra room. Without the clip my steering wheel does not come near touching the dash so I'm unclear if I need it. Thank you!

Removing the "C" clip will cause rubbing and binding of the SW on the column parts.

It may be necessary for the factory steering wheel but it does not appear to be necessary for the 930S steering wheel to avoid rubbing and binding. In fact, the 930S steering wheel seems to fit better on the spindle without the c-clip.
