For those of you following this thread, this was an upgrade from 205/60/6J15" ATS Cookie Cutter wheels to 205/55ZR 6J16" front and 205/55ZR 7J16" rear to a narrow body stock 1974 911 Sunroof Coupe. Glad to report that no rubbing has occurred. I rolled the rear fenders as a precaution only. 205s are the widest tires you can get on a narrow body if you go to 7" rear wheels...I am so glad I didn't buy the 225/50s...whew...How's she look.....

Very nice. Did you end up with any clearance issues at all?

Hey Mark, no clearance issues, I had my 16yr old son Nick jump up & down on the rear bumper and it looked like the rear drivers side was close. I decided to go ahead and roll the fender for peace of mind. Just got in from a hard drive, hard full lock turns and hit every bump, hard cornering on both sides under acceleration and no rubbing...I like this...

The wheels look great on your car. I've got 15" cookie cutters on my SC, and would love to upgrade...How do you like the Kumho tires? How do they compare with what you were running? Does 16" feel a lot different than 15?

Looks good Chris!
Thanks for the full decision making process/update. I now know for certain that I will have to get 4 new tyres ![]() Oh well. Anyone in New Zealand want a good deal on a set of barely used Yokohama A520s in 225/50?? I have posted a new topic asking for opinions on 4x 6" vs 6s and 7s vs 4x 7". Very nice Chris. The fuch wheels certainly are an upgrade (both in appearance and quality). By simply bolting them on, your car looks far more posh and performance oriented, not to mention newer. I have to admit though... those cookies seem to be in immaculate condition! Congrats on your upgrade.

Thanks Matt. Yes the cookies are in excellent-perfect condition, ZERO curb rash! Hard to believe for 26-27 year old wheels. I had to refinish them due to a stupid mistake by my former roomie. He put full strength purple industrial cleaner in my spray bottle that I kept a mild soapy solution in for cleaning the wheels. I didn't realize until I had gone around and sprayed each wheel. It ate the finish right off. Anyway, many manhours later (10-12) I pulled off a great finish, even hand painted the centercaps to original color. I don't care what others say about the cookies, these have been the bomb!
