Post Yet another Weber question

Im thinking of installing a pair of Weber 40s off a 2.2T to a 2.7 engine. Originally a CIS, the 2.7 has SC cams and the intake ports have been increased to 35 mm. Does anyone have any experience regarding the setup? I know that this post is parallel to what Leland is trying to do. Just wanted to know what venturi size to use and any other mods needed. Where is a good place to get a rebuild kit and other parts for Webers in So. Cal., or where can I send these out for a rebuild locally? Thanks in advance.

Just had mine done recently. Venturis seem a little hard to come by. You'll need 34 mm venturis. I got mine from EBS racing for $80 after checking a bunch of different places includeing Pelican. Probably the best setup would be the classic changeover described in the old Panarama article for converting over to a 2.7. I remember it included F3 emulsion tubes but don't remember the jet sizes offhand. If somebody else doesn't come up with them on a post here, email me & I'll send you the sizes later. I had a place in San Diego do mine, & it cost about $500. That included the new jets, emulsion tubes, rebuild kit, fixing a bunch of little things, etc.

Why yes, I do have some experience there.
Your 2.2L manifolds won't do the trick on 2.7L heads. The base of the old manifolds won't cover the intake port of the odd shaped 2.7 head. PMO sells the correct manifolds.....also the insulator blocks.
I had to use a second party (Strasse) to get anything out of PMO. Maybe the Pelicans can help here.

As to set up:

34mm venturi
55/60 idles
145 air correction
f3 tubes
135/140 mains
Seems to work fine on my 2.7....but mine is not stock, however. This is a decent baseline right out of BAs book.

Thanks for the info guys. Im going to have to do some research as to where I might be able to get the venturis and the jets. The set-up off the 2.2 were actually from PMO and Im thinking of going to Santa Monica and pay them a visit. Thanks again.
