Post 89911 please help

89911 I put up a question a couple weeks ago about my rear seat problem. You were the only one who answered. The knob came off at the base in the middle of the rear seats which you pull to lower the seat backs, the threaded end retreated into the hole and i can't get it out. you said there is a way but i tried again and couldn't get it. is there a trick? anyone?

Had the same thing happen to me. Easy fix. Lower about half way the opposite seat from the one that is broken. Feel with your finger under the edge of the carpet where the hinge goes into the hole when the seat is up right. That hole runs through to the other seat. Bend a coat hanger about two inches from the end, insert it into the hole, and the lost pin will appear on the other side. If you've lost the thread cap for the pin, as I did, you can get a replacement at Scotty's for $1.50. Take the pin with you to size it. They did not have red, so if you want them to match, replace the other also. Good luck.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Sometimes I guess I overcomplicate things that should be pretty simple.

Sorry for the delay, I was away at a DE this weekend at Mid-Ohio. The other post is as I remember fixing the problem. I think I actually let the other seat pin push the sunken one out by slightly loosening the red know and then letting it snap back, pushing the other pin out. Hope it works.

Success at last. Thanks guys. It was easy. I have to learn to not immediately start taking things apart and look for the simple way first.
