Question "Overview of Approved Engine Oils," Porsche Tech Bulletin 02/07 1701,

Does anybody know where I can find this?

"Overview of Approved Engine Oils," Porsche Tech Bulletin 02/07 1701, April 11, 2007.

Allan Caldwell referenced it at least in 2007 and 2008 in articles like this one:

Thanks for the tip.

But rats, that is annoying that Porsche won't just put their bulletins on a website.

Keep in mind, there is no way that Porsche will be able to check out all the various oils - instead, it is more like what kind of deal the regional dealer will swing to be able to sell the oil for a nice margin.

LubeMaster77,

That is a jaded but probably accurate view.

I think so too. I have always understood the purpose of Porsche's oil certification program is to tell the dealer network what they are approved to use in servicing cars. This is based on the deals Porsche has made with the oil producers. It isn't intended to inform customers what they should be using.
