Where is the smuggler's trunk?

I have heard a lot about the smuggler's trunk, and that the factory toolkit may be stored in it. Can anyone point it out for me? Thanks.

The smuggler's box is under the carpet in the luggage compartment, just behind the gas tank. There is an obvious trap door here. It houses a fan and exchanger for the A/C, but Im not sure if there would be enough space to fit the tool kit in here.

Pull back the carpet kit under the dash on the passenger side of the car. Lift the board at the footrest, and voila

Thanks guys. I was looking all over the trunk and couldn't find it. I'll check it out tomorrow.

Let's see...you come up the ramp, take a right, then it's about 3 or 4 deck plates along the passageway, under the floor...and Wookies barely fit.

Mine is an Euro and it doesn´t have a/c so the box is roomier.
It was me who found the tool- and first-aid kits from there, so blame me for the disappointment caused by any fruitless search for a non-existing tool kit...

Mine's also the euro version, the toolbag goes in the hole in the front storage by the gas tank. Part of the radio lives under the passenger footboard, I don't know if the US cars have that down there.

I looked under the floorboard in my passenger footwell, and found a small opening through the "firewall", but it was mostly blocked by some sort of electrical component. There was a square, 3-wire connector, and the device seemed to have some springs attached to the far side, but it was hard to see. Does anyone know what this may be? The wires were relatively thick, probably 10-gauge, red, red/white, and I can't remember the 3rd. They merged with a wiring harness just behind the shifter console.

Also, I checked the compartment behind my spare in the trunk, and remembered why I haven't looked inside there yet. The car has diagonal strut braces that are anchored to a thick metal strip that appears to be welded to the bottom of the truck, and this strip covers the hinged side of this small compartment. Is there anything in there I may need to access in the future? My A/C fan is making some noises, do I need to get in there to access it (the sound seems to be coming more from the area just behind the A/C upper vents). Is there another fan?

Yes sir I know, that is the AC sensor. right behind there is the front condenser. Check it out, You'll seee what I mean.

I just took all that stuff out the other day.

That was my best guess, but the location seemed strange. Does the hinged cover in the truck just provide access to the condensor as well?
