New Owner, New Member

I am a fairly new owner, so I just started the addiction. My 1979 911SC is below. Any suggestions on how to best enjoy and maintain my new ride will be welcomed. Thanks. Max

Welcome Max. Just drive and enjoy. Of course that doesn't happen. You'll see upgrades you like, regular maintenance. items on & on. But that IS part of the fun!!! Nice looking car also.

Drive it. Wash it. Wax it. Drive it some more. Repeat.

Love that color! You'll find just about everything you'll ever need to know/learn right here! I say "just about" b/c driving that SC is part of the discovery and learning process...I'd suggest you decode all your options and document the engine and Trans #'s you have so you know 1 if you have a #'s matching car (not that important but helpfull) and more importanly know for sure which parts to order....Lots of swaps happened on these cars....

But again WELCOME and make sure you've bought the essential books:
Waynes 101 projects, How to rebuild and modify porsche 911 Engines (contains all the serial#'s and specs for your SC, very helpfull indeed)
and of-course the Bentley manual... If you need the official factory repair manual just PM me and I'll send it to you!

As they say in Italy "Thatsa wonna nighsa Porscha!"

You're certainly getting off on the right foot by driving it on the grass before you get out on the twisties; no better way to learn how to control your new baby's tail happiness!

Have fun!

Welcome Max - congratulations that's a beautiful SC ...

I'm a relative newbie too, you'll find this site your most valuble accessory, I know that I have ...

take imcarthur's advise on the Long term & Commonly Neglected Maintenance thread, I've added that to my favorites ..
