Smile Finished Phase 1 of Project, well almost

I just finished the first phase of my project and wanted to share some pictures. There are a few small things to still complete but mostly cosmetic. It started in June '07 and completed the bulk of the work March 08. It will be a work in progress that will grow as our driving skills improve. I want to thank all the people that gave me advice, came up with solutions when I was at whit's end, lent me their tools without even knowing me, and encouraged me when i started running out of steam, this is a great community.

I will have to car dyno tuned next month to properly tune the carbs and will post the results. Wednesday will be my first track day at TGPR in this car, i cant wait..

Looks sensational Gert - I have been contemplating putting a duck on my IROC build, and your car has confirmed for me how good this looks.

Can I ask what rubber welting you are using between the front fenders and bumper?

If phase 1 is all that work, I can't imagine what phase 2 brings. What a great job!

Stellar job, Gert! I read through the old thread. What did you do for suspension springs and shocks (I saw Bilstein's are they revalved?)

When does phase II start? Have you thought about the motor?

Doug

All I can say is wow, wow, wow. Nice job on that car. I love the flares and bumper covers, very clean look with the duck tail too.

Luckily we were not severely affected, there were some trees uprooted in the area strong winds and rain but no major damage

I got the welting from TREmotorsports, I think they call it fender to bumper seal.

Doug

I am still using torsion bars, 22/28 and had the Bilsteins re-valved to match the torsion bars.

I am still shell shocked by the cost of all this but i think phase 2 will start in the winter again.

I am between 2 fires on the motor and will have to get some inputs from more experienced members the to help make up my mind,

Option 1) 3.6L 993 motor with the 46 PMOs mild cam and head-work try to get to 300hp
Option 2) upgrade the SC motor to support low boost twin turbo with ITBs also ~300Hp with good throttle response

I am off to the track tomorrow and will try some video shots
