early rear hub bearing removal
I have a 1966 912 that I am restoring. Trying to break down the rear suspension for powder coating and new bearings. Lots of great threads here on later cars, but I'm wondering if the process or tool, improvised or otherwise, are the same. My hubs look different than others posted.
How do I get this cover off? Or is this the bearing itself? Is there a diagram out there that someone has? Regards, ![]() ![]()

Sorry Don can't help you with the bearing, but I really like the blue colour. Which one is it?

It is a press fit. You should be able to just wiggle/tap it off. But if you intend to remove the main bearings you are going to need a hydraulic press.

All good information in John S topic he posted. Be sure to grease the threaded rod you use. And heat is your friend. Don't melt the trailing arm, but don't be shy about using heat.
