Obviously you won't find the difference in switch (part # is the same). It is the rest of the wiring in the car, the mirror motors, and the way they are controlled. As tough as the diagram below is to see, a quick compare to the '84 diagram above should help.

I wired '84/'85 mirrors on my '81 to work the mirrors left/right, but not up/down. I spent hours testing them with a meter thinking I had transposed the harnesses incorrectly until I finally started comparing wiring diagrams.

Hello,

everybody, Iīm having a litle trouble wiring the mirrors to my friend porsche that he bought from the internet, the mirror is like "B new". The guy who sold just cut the wires, and from the joystick and the selector donīt send the plugs it came without wires, so even more hard to find the scheme for that.

At this time I have only the left driverīs mirror with me, the joystick and the selector, so I couldnīt try to put booth mirrors working, but I have put this one working ok after one all afternoon. My head almost explode lol

Now there is other problem, because this scheme I made only work with one, when I get booth together the scheme it will be diferent, because in all schemes I saw one mirror depends on the other...

Other thing, I see that in many schemes appear the mirror resistor, the clutch and the motor, in this mirrors it as only the resistor and two motors.

The mirrors are from the 944 (but they are comun to other porsches) just donīt know the year, the wire colors are:
1-White
2-white Brown - two wires but they are conected on the plug
3-Black/Brown
4-Brown
5-Brown/Yellow

1 and 2- are for left right movement
3 - up down movement
5 and 6 - resistor

The numbers arenīt plug numbers, I just give wire a number to better explain.

The joystick has 6 wires (equal to that one on the photo), and the selector 3 wires

if you could give me a litle help I would be thankful,
best regards
