I am taking apart my black ring Euro H4's to get the rings chromed.
![]() ![]() They each are held in place by a crimp washer. I got one off by just holding the crimp washer with a pliers and backing the long screw out with my Makita power tool. However, when I tried to do this on the second one, the crimp washer started to scar the screw threads so I stopped. Has anyone performed this disassembly before and have a tip to make this go easier and less damaging? I don't want to mess these up. Also, I'm dreading the re-assembly....especially if I have to wrestle these these things back together and risk messing up a freshly chromed piece!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks ![]() |

The crimp on things are useless.
Use old screw off spark plug terminals if you've saved any in place of them, the threads are the same. |

I cut mine them off, then for re-assembly, I used doubled nuts to retain them.

why don't you buy the trim ring that goes over the black ring. That way you don't have exposed screw heads and it's going to look better once it's chromed....
