Thanks for the replies guys. This is where the Forum will have to pitch in and help each other so we can get a data base together of decals per year and model. I don't mind doing the design work but you guys will have to come up with all the other information. Remember I am working from Australia and PCars are no where near as common here as they are in the US. The ones that are here are generally ROW compliance so the decals will be different anyway.
Dave.

I was hoping you would take up the project again. This community is in need of these labels and as the cars age the need will only increase.

My interest is in the Shell sticker. It goes on the hot air socket on a 1986 3.2L Carrera. it is 2"x5". My understanding this sticker changes frequently by model year so I cannot say what other years it is correct for.

This is the Shell sticker on my 86 3.2. Can anyone else confirm this is universal?

Dave,

Glad you're back in the game. You do quality work. I'm currently overseas (Singapore way) and due back early Aug. When I return home I'll pm you for details should you be willing to make some of these for me.

Keep up the good work.

Hey Dave (nyne11)

Are the stickers printed on mylar or some type of vinyl material or are they like the original thin metal plate with adhesive back, like the ones in the engine compartment?

I can see from the previous pics you put a lot of work into this project, I like it!

Oh, and are they printed from a solvent printer or screenprinted?

David

Hi David.
The only media I could find is a waterproof which is available in many different varieties including a number of metal finishes. The white vinyl in my view is better quality than OEM. The gold Foil Vinyl is Inkjet Printable Metallic Gold Polyester Film, not metal like original OEM. However Looks great when printed up. I then coat with a UV clear overlay laminate or a spray on clearcoat. I have done all my printing an an inkjet which I think is very cost effective especially if someone wants to do their own.
Cheers.
Dave

Dave

Your reproduction designs look good, but you always get thoughs picky customers that want it exactly like OEM, which I understand and can be hard to reproduce and amounts to $$$.

I do reproduction railroad signs from old black and white photos and some originals. Back than they where hand cut films or hand lettered with some crazy made up fonts that customers want exact!..... What a pain!

I always do scans of the product, or from the photos and redraw the fonts, that way I have the design in the PC for when they reorder.

If you can get fellow Pelicans to send you there sticker (if they can get it off, heat gun helps) than you can scan them in and use the pic in the background and design over top to perfection!

The old days of typesetting is a lot different from the PC created designs, but can be replicated to a "T"

Good luck and keep up the good work!

Thanks for the encouragement. Believe me I know what you are saying! I have in fact sourced the actual font used and am in the process of trying to acquire it at minimal cost. I can get them absolutely exact by editing each individual letter of the font I have on an overlay. But as I said it is time consuming to say the least and I am not sure I want to invest that much extra.

Replacement Decals

Dave,
I need a sticker/decal please. Please PM me with the cost.

The sticker I need is tho one fitted to the Bosch ignition transformer (coil) 965-602-116-00. Mine is MIA, only a faint outline left, so I cannot take a picture of it. Can someone help with a close-up picture of a 91-91 Turbo coil under the intercooler?

Also, I have documented the oil level and tire pressure metallic plates/decals for my 1991 turbo. The pictures are below but all the printing has vanished on the tire plate/decal. I'm sure there is a common format for this one.

The wording in (ascii art):
--------------------------------------------------------------
....Tire size front...........................rear.............. ..........
..................205/50 ZR 17.............255/40 ZR 17..........
....Vehicle weight cap 661............lbs...........................
....Cold infl. Pressure.......................................... .........
..................front.......................... .rear.........................
..................36 psi.........................36 psi......................
..................250 kPa......................250 kPa..................
................................................. ...................................
....Designated seat position 4.....................................
..................front.......................... rear..........................
................................................. ...................................
................................................. ...................................
........965.701.287.00........................... ........................
---------------------------------------------------------------

Our sponsor is showing the tire pressure plate in stock so I have ordered one.

Also, how do you remove the existing decals?

Thanks,
Mark

I received my decals from Shane and think they're great. Sorry for the poor photography, but hopefully his great job is evident:

Stickers for 1972 911T

Since I am in the middle of a complete bar metal restoration, might as well get some new stickers.

I peeled all the old stickers off and hope the pictures are good enough for you to
generate new stickers

The only one I am missing is the Shell sticker on the air box
Also can yo make a 2.4 sticker for the rear window

David let me know when you have some for my car for sale

thanks

Carrera Side graphics vector file

Hey PelicanHeads,
Does anyone have the vector file (eps, ai, hpgl, cdr, Flexi, etc) for the carrera side graphics? Most of what I am seeing is pretty rough work and I want to build a very clean, accurate version and post. I'll swap a very nice SHELL sticker rebuild.
You can PM me at, robert@firstimpressionsign.com
