Post Doesn't look right- clutch linkage

Adjusted my clutch with the help of Bentley tonight. But something looked odd to me. The round watchamacallit sort of spring on the tranny rests on the drivers side heat exchanger. There's even a cutout in the heat exchanger to accept the spring. Is this right or has the PO done something to compensate for wear or ...
