Post 80 SC idle problem

When cold RPM runs around 2000 for about 5 minutes, as soon as it warms up, it start hunting and goes from nearly stall to 2500, and continues this until it does stall in about 30 seconds. I am thinking Warm Up Regulator (WUR), but do not want to spend $250.00 without research first. Have tried various things like increasing opening Idle screw with no luck. The 80 has a vacuum line to the WUR and I have tried disconnecting the line and plugging up both sides with some change, but it still hunts. Any thoughts?

I had a similar problem when I purchased my '82SC. At the advice of many from this board, I unplugged the O2 sensor and all is well now. It idles at a steady 900rpm's now. You will need to get your CO2 mixture adjusted if you do this. Good luck.
