Soft front w a firm butt? (21/ 29's?)

I know 22/28 torsion bars are recommended for a dual purpose street/ DE Carrera?

Is anyone trying a 21/29 or 21/28 combination?

Why and how is it working?

Might be helpful to know what shock and sway bar combination you are running with it.

My car is a 1985 with limited slip and hope to stay with the stock sways and I may stay with rubber bushings.

Thanks for any thoughts.

21/28 or 21/29 would probably be too stiff in the rear, making the car less balanced and running towards oversteer. 22F is better for 28 or 29 rear. Balance is the key.

People who run 21F generally stick with 27's in the rear.

I used to run 21/30, and the car was very well balanced. A lot of track guys run as stiff as they can in the back -- Bruce Anderson mentions it in his book.

I'm running 19/27... well balanced, but a touch too soft.

I was running 23/30 on my SC with Bilstein Sports. For a dual purpose car it was too brutal for the street. Went with 21/28 with Carrera sway bars and thought it was perfect. Firm and it appeared balanced.

I have a 87 with 21/29, Billy sports, and stock sways. Car is dual purpose street and track. The car is not too stiff (for me) and is a good compromise for its intended use. In the future, I plan on going to 22/31 with adjustable sways.

22/29 and the Bilstein HD/Sport here on my 87 Carrera. It's not too firm until you hit some really big bumps. Then it beats you up. 22/29 is a bit understeering and an 22mm adjustable rear sway bar was needed for me to dial out the push on corner entry at the track. Front swaybar remains stock 22.

I'm not pleased with the roll stiffness so i'm switching up to 23/31 and revalved shocks. The brutality pantera speaks of is likely due to improper shock absorber tuning for the torsion bars. At least that's what the experts tell me.
