Installing SSI - Backdated
I have bought a set og new SSI for backdating my exhaust on a 911 - 76 2.7l. I have a question regarding the left heat exchanger there is a pipe coming out near the top of the heat exchanger that I did not have on the original one. Any idea what to do with it? Shall I just leave it or plug it??

I believe what you have is a set of SSIs for an engine with the mechanical fuel injection. This pipe supplies hot air to the thermostat "stack" that expands and leans the mixture as the engine warms up. Just plug or cap the extra pipe.
Good luck with your project! Watch out for rusty/stubborn exhaust stud nuts. Do a search on the BB for info on safely removing the old nuts without breaking studs.
