Porsche Crest Missing O2 Sensor?! LOL

So I'm pressing on with my, not so, epic struggle to make my gorgeous 1989 993 Conversion 3.2L less embarrassing to start/drive today when I discovered that my O2 Sensor has no wires leading to it! I've driven the car a few times and it runs just fine; acceptable idle and no antics at WOT. I did notice a pretty rich fuel smell (everyone notices) but attributed it to the lack of Cats and Motronic. I take it that without an O2 Sensor Motronic defaults to a fairly rich mixture? Can anyone confirm this behavior? I was surprised that this never lit a CEL. Anyhow, I'm getting kind of excited that I can make my, already pretty good running, car run better (Rich condition costs horsepower even if it is safer and getting rid of some of the stink would be nice too) when I notice the utter lack of wires in that general vicinity. Can someone point me in the right direction to find the origination of the O2 Sensor wire loom?

The car is so low that although I was able to see the Sensor I could see little else on the Pre-Purchase once over. I had planned on avoiding the use of the engine to jack the car but ended up going that route as I could not get a jack under much of anything else. I'm currently changing oil from mystery-overfill oil to Brad Penn 20/50 and setting valve lash. After removing 11 Nuts and washers I discovered that my very slick tubular headers with aluminum heat exchangers will not quite allow the valve covers to be removed. So I soaked the Header nuts/studs with PB Blaster and will come back to strike them with a drift tomorrow. They are rusty but still very recognizable and I don’t expect much trouble there. The only other worrying issue I noted was a couple drops of oil from the bell housing.
