Post oil bypass mod

Hello!

I am getting ready to split my 2.2S case and am interested in the oil bypass mod. The problem is I have no idea what I am doing! I was hoping somebody could help. Yes, I have Bruce's book. I have read the section but am still fuzzy on drilling anything without knowing exactly where and what size. Also, do I need to get an updated oil pump or will the stock one work? While I am in there I am going to do the boat tailing and cooling tin mod. Anything else to consider?

Thanks!
BK

Well, his mentioning the mod comes a little short of being 'complete' instructions ...

It might help to look at one of the engine-oiling diagrams, specifically the #7 bypass piston, as that vent into the crankcase sump is the one that gets plugged.

And the hole gets drilled/milled (as shown in one of the pictures) in the right case half, through the inlet port to the pressure pump (from the 'S-hose' line -- same size seal as the lower one on the oil cooler) to the bypass passage from that #7 relief piston.

It will become more clear when you have the right case half in your hands ... if you can tie the oiling diagram, and the picture of the mod passage to your engine case.
